The DBT concept of radical acceptance is a powerful process for treating gambling addiction.
A “DBT” search on Amazon will yield about a dozen books on DBT. Unfortunately, they all seem to be directed to therapists, and they are all too expensive for a patient trying to learn about DBT. So folks, an opportunity. There doesn’t seem to be DBT book for the general public.
Marsha Linehan, Balancing Acceptance and Change
YouTube search terms: marsha linehan balancing acceptance and change
Designed primarily for therapists and quite long. Still, it is worth watching Marsha Linehan lecture.
A YouTube search on just “DBT” will provide many 5-minute overviews. Interestingly, they are all very different from each other.

Self-Compassion, Dr. Kristin Neff
Web search terms: self-compassion
I believe it is very difficult to begin the process of healing and recovery until you have found a way to put your shame, guilt, and self-loathing into the rearview mirror. This is a site that can help you do just that.
Quote: “With self-compassion, we give ourselves the same kindness and care we’d give to a good friend.”
